Claudia Beatriz Padula
A Research Health Science Specialist at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, Dr. Padula is interested in leveraging neuroscience and neuropsychology to understand and improve treatment outcomes for those suffering from addiction. Her recent scholarly products focus on extending her work in neural emotion and reward processing to predict treatment outcomes with alcohol use disorder. Her current funding supports two large-scale mechanistic clinical trials to understand a novel neuromodulation intervention to improve neural function and treatment outcomes in alcohol and methamphetamine use disorders. Her long-term research program goals focus on understanding these markers of treatment response to ultimately provide more precise mental health interventions and access to care for Veterans with addiction.
