Claudia Padula

A Research Health Science Specialist at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System and Instructor (Affiliate) of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, Dr. Padulais interested in using neuroscience and neuropsychology to understand and improve treatment outcomes for those suffering from addiction. Her recent scholarly products focus on emotion and reward processing in individuals with alcohol use disorder. Her current funding supports a 5-year, longitudinal exploration of neural circuits underlying alcohol use disorders in men and women Veterans and how these brain circuits relate to maintained recovery versus relapse risk. Her long term research program goals focus on understanding these markers of treatment response to ultimately provide more precise mental health interventions for Veterans with addiction.
